The Audi Sport TT Cup official test was held at Hockenheim three weeks before the first race of the season. Back then Vivien set the fourth best time.
Unfortunately her former engineer, with whom she worked last year already, had a surgery and cannot work for eight months. Vivien’s management tried to find an experienced engineer but it was not possible due to the lack of time.
Therefore Vivien had to pay attention alone for the setup of the car together with her mechanic.
The free practice on Friday was shorter than planned after Simon Wirth had an accident and the practice was cancelled with red flag for more than 20 minutes. Therefore the drivers had only 25 minutes for testing the possible setups.
On Saturday in qualifying Vivien reached the 15th position, 1.8 seconds behind the pole position.
The first race ended for her before the start after her car slipped during the formation lap when she was warming up the tires. The young driver hit the wall and she had to replace her car because the rear left side of the original one crashed heavily into the wall.
On Sunday on the second race of the weekend Vivien started in a TT with a green livery and the setup of the car was quite good according to her.
Vivien started well and was confident that she can progress and she tried an overtaking manoeuvre next to Mike Beckhusen. Vivien’s german rival turned the car when Vivien was already inside and next to him and hit the front left side and wheel of Vivien’s car.
The car of Vivien was difficult to drive and after a few laps the front left tyre was unusable so Vivien decided to give up the fight. She stopped the car in the pit lane and did not finish the race.
Despite the difficulties Vivien is still very positive. The second car was much better, than the first one, we had a good setup and the pace was also OK, but the accident unfortunately happened. Tom Kristensen, one of the mentors in TT Cup admired how I fought with the car after the crash so I cannot wait to race again. Three weeks from now we will race at Nürburgring and my aim is still to fight for positions on the front of the field. I will try to do everything and still have the motivation to reach good results.
